Vilamoura is the largest coastal resort in The Algarve, this area has so much to offer in terms of history & culture with the Roman ruins of Cerro da Vila nearby. The beaches are world class such as Praia de Vilamoura & Praia da Falésia just up the coast. However, if you want to be surrounded by pristine natural beauty, it is worth paying to go on a boat excursion taking in the local caves between Vilamoura and Albufeira which is further west along the coastline.
