However, if you want to be surrounded by pristine natural beauty, head to Fažana near Pula and take the 20 minute ferry ride to the Brijuni Islands. This is a group of 14 small islands separated from the west coast of the Istrian peninsula by the narrow Fažana Strait. The islands have been designated a national park and it is packed with white sany beaches, woods and 200 dinosaur footprints!
